Students interested in Ph.D. research with faculty
in the Department of Neurobiology can choose from two
graduate programs in the Neurosciences: Neurobiology,
and Computational Neuroscience.
The Online
Graduate Programs Application allows students to
apply to both graduate programs through the Neurosciences
Cluster.
- Neuroscience
Graduate Program: The Committee on Neurobiology
offers a course of study leading to a Ph.D. in neurobiology.
The program is supported by a graduate program training
grant and emphasizes neuroanatomical and physiological
approaches to the study of neurobiology. Formal requirements
for this program are available on the Committee
on Neurobiology website.
- Computational
Neuroscience Graduate Program: The Committee
on Computational Neuroscience offers a course
of study leading to a Ph.D. in computational
neuroscience. The program is supported by a graduate
program training grant and emphasizes theoretical
and computational approaches to the study of
neuronal function and organization. Formal requirements
for this program are available at the Committee
on Computational Neuroscience website.
The University of Chicago welcomes applications from
minority students who are members of groups underrepresented
in science. For information on the BSD efforts
to recruit and retain minority students, please see
the webpage, Opportunities
for Minority Graduate Students in the Biological Sciences.
